The sowing of spring crops in Minsk region is planned for 240.700 hectares

Spring crops in Minsk region will be sown on an area of 240.7 thousand hectares, which is 14 thousand hectares more than last year. BELTA was told about this by Natalya Grinkevich, chief specialist of the department of agriculture and plant growing of the committee on agriculture and food of Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

“We plan to sow spring crops, including wheat, oats, barley, triticale, corn, millet, buckwheat and legumes, on an area of 240.7 thousand hectares, which is 14 thousand hectares more than last year,” said Natalia Grinkevich. “We give preference in the grain wedge to spring barley, which will be sown on an area of 80 thousand hectares.”

Industrial crops, which include flax, sugar beets and crucifers, will be sown on an area of 148 thousand hectares.

The sowing campaign in the Minsk region will begin after warming. The mass start of sowing in Belarus is expected after March 25.
